Monitoring your processor’s temperature is vital to keeping your computer’s health. Core Temp is a small program specifically designed to keep track of important system info, including CPU temperature.
The program is easy to use as almost no user intervention is necessary. However, you may want to customize the program to fit your exact needs or preferences. For instance, you can ask the application to show such data as temperature, frequency and CPU load in the taskbar. Similarly, you can also set your preferred temperature polling and logging intervals. You can also start the program along with the system and run minimized from the Tray. However, in my opinion, the most useful feature is overheat protection. Thus, you can have the program automatically perform given actions whenever an abnormal CPU temperature increase is detected.
In general, Core Temp has the advantages of being very easy to use, having a small download size and very little footprint; but above all, it can monitor your processor’s temperature more accurately than other programs around because it can take full advantage of the digital thermal sensors implemented in modern CPUs. Fortunately, the program supports a long list of modern processors brands. However, it was too bad that downloading the installer was a bit awkward.
